Help I'm locked in!

My back door has one of those handle you pull up to a vertical position to lock. It's been feeling a bit loose for a while, and tonight when I locked up it felt even looser. I tried unlocking to check it's working and the door won't unlock! The key turns round but the handle just doesn't feel like it's 'catching' if that makes sense?

I got locked in our old flat once when the lock broke -- called a locksmith and they got me out (and replaced the lock).

No front door. I guess my back door is the front door really, but it's to the side, not front of the house. I could climb out a window but that would be the only way back in so I'd have to leave it open so going to work tomorrow will be interesting...

Do you have home emergency cover on your insurance? My lock once did something similar (wouldn't lock rather than wouldn't open) and they sent a locksmith who sorted it for no charge.
