Wonky loo seats

Darker · 15/02/2022 22:58

I find myself replacing my loo seats every so often because after a while they get loose and start slipping. I take the fitting apart, clean and reassemble but the ‘fix’ never lasts long.

What can I do? I don’t want to replace the whole seat every time this happens.

Are you a person with a larger bottom?

Happens to me all the time so following with interest

Apparently it's a big bottom problem or so I read

I remember reading something about it's when people "swivel" on the toilet seat to reach the toilet paper, and then results in the fixings becoming loose. Could the toilet paper be moved to become more accessible?

We used to have this problem, but we've now got some excellent ones from b and q. I think they're Cooke and Lewis, and think they may be called Diani ( having looked on their website, and they look right)! They've been absolutely brilliant.

Happens here. Small bum family, but there is swivelling…

The ideal sized bum here (not saying more than that). Possibly a swivel issue.

I don’t understand why the fittings can’t be fixed or replaced without replacing the whole thing.

In case you need to change the seat?

Ours need replacing too, we only have one bathroom.
The reason it happens here, is when someone is running a bath/ brushing their teeth/ chatting to someone in the shower (usually me to dh) etc. We sit, lid down, side ways on the loo. Eventually it gives in and needs replacing, no other option. Such a waste.

Get Flexi-Fix toilet seats. We had a problem with toilet seats, I kept replacing them cheaply. Bought Flexi-Fix ones from Argos. No problem since

This is a constant problem in our house too.
