Kitchen worktops

Hi guys, I read an article a week or so ago that buying worktops direct from the supplier works out cheaper.

We are getting our kitchen from diy kitchens and at the moment granite work tops are coming in at £4000. Has anyone else gone direct to the supplier and got them cheaper? Also if so what companies did you use?

We got Dekton tops through DIY Kitchens. I shopped around but couldn't find a direct supplier who would beat the price by more than a trivial few pounds. We decided to stick with DIY for simplicity and to reduce the risk of hassle e.g. if the units got damaged while the tops were being installed.
