Shower pump or upgrade cylinder?

I'm getting quotes for a new bathroom and want to change the piddly electric shower for one that uses the tank. Will it be just as piddly unless we have a pump?

Do you have a pump? Are they incredibly noisy? We had one in a rental that was so loud it woke everyone up if you used it late/early.

Is it worth upgrading the cylinder to an unvented one? Boiler is only a year old so would rather not swap to a combi boiler!

We have an Aqualisa electric shower with an integrated pump, not massively noisy and very effective. The downside is that it's less economical than a regular shower, but having just installed an unvented cylinder myself I can tell you it would be ££££ to change a 1 year old boiler just for the sake of one shower!

No- definitely don't want to change the boiler now!
