Induction + gas

Has anyone got an induction hob with a single gas ring? How do you find it?

Just to complicate things for me, I'm not on piped gas so will be hopefully running the single burner off a calor gas container that I'm hoping can be somewhere housed in my kitchen island.

Anyone have a similar set up?

I looked into this briefly - you might find it hard to find one with just a single gas ring, would you look at a domino hob? You could get three sets, 2 x 2 induction and one large gas? Can get expensive though, and takes up a lot of room.

MN loves induction hobs, so be prepared for people to tell you not to bother with the gas Grin

Thanks @Zinnia Grin. Yes, I've clocked the induction love on here (and it has actually persuaded me to go induction too).

But. DH is a paella fan (freak more like, we have 5 different paella pan's) and DD loves wok cooking, so I'd love to have a combi.

We’ve got an AEG induction hob with gas wok burner, we love it, but we are on mains gas. Needed to keep a gas ring as my pizza oven uses it, but wanted induction for ease of cleaning. Best of both worlds!

Why can’t you cook paella on an induction hob? The pans are flat bottomed so should work fine.

Wok is a little trickier, but you can get induction suitable woks that have a flat base (we have one, it works fine for stir fries). Or you could even get one of these for the wok cooking, will cost a lot less than the extra work of putting in a single gas ring and supply to it.

There are strict rules about calor gas storage, I’d be very surprised if you’d be allowed to store a cylinder inside your kitchen island. If not then you’d need to look at an underfloor pipe to an outdoor container.

Thanks @minipie I'll look into calor gas storage for sure.
