Hello all, we're planning a loft conversion to create 1 bedroom with ensuite.
It has materialised that due to the new fire safety regulations we would have to have a complete sprinkler system installed as we're a duplex maisonette above a shop, hence we'd have 2 stories above 4.5m high.
We've had a quote of 50k for the building work, without sprinklers, no idea how much extra that would be.
I'm really not sure what is involved or the cost of sprinklers , but it sounds VERY expensive.
We don't actually need the extra space, but it would be lovely.
What is your experience with sprinklers, I understand they need yearly maintenance etc? Just not sure if it's worth the hassle (and £££'s)
