Is the market really slow near you? When do you reckon it’ll pick up?

Is the market really slow near anyone else? I’m looking for a one bed flat in London and although my budget isn’t huge, it should be enough for the area I’m looking. There is literally nothing decent coming on! Out of curiosity I upped my budget on rightmove by 50 k just to see if I had actually just been priced out and even then hardly anything new. What’s going on ?

I don’t know if it’s technically a slow market as there is loads of demand and things are tending to sell quite quickly once on the market. But definitely slow in terms of lack of stock.

@CoolShoeshine that’s true actually, when something does go on it seems that all the viewings take place on a Saturday then by the afternoon it’s gone!

We are not far from London and it is similar here. Things go really quickly and there aren't many decent properties coming on the market

If its the right type of house and the right prkice, its flying off before ghe days ended. Hkwver i am seeing some houses on ghe market for longer

We’re having out current home decorated and the decorator said he’s struggling to meet demand as so many people are having extensions built rather than moving. We’re not extending but decorating and investing in making this home how we want it.

It seems slow round here. Not much up for sale on my street and close by, but what there is is still at silly prices. One, not silly priced, but IMO still overpriced, is under offer, but so it was late last year and came back on the market, so who knows? Now scaff has gone up and some pointing is being done, which is interesting. Either the board has been left up when it's sold, or sellers are having to do work to attract/please buyers. I'll be interested to see what it goes for compared to the original asking from early last year.

Loads of flats goiing up in E10 E17....huge developments...many still unsold...where are you looking..??

lastqueenofscotland · 31/01/2022 08:49

It might be that 50k isn’t enough… have you looked with no max budget and seen what it’s like?

Sasha84 · 31/01/2022 10:28

@lastqueenofscotland thanks for the idea, I’ve just looked on no max budget and it’s brought up about 5 that weren’t initially there. I spoke to the estate agent this morning who seemed positive that I should find what I’m looking for on my budget so I think will just have to keep searching Confused

SE London here and we are looking for 3 bed houses. Nothing come on the market in over a week in our area!
