Sky Cables

The previous owners of our house had Sky. We don't, and never will. However, the satellite dish is still up outside, and whilst that is fine, the incoming cables are driving me potty. They're in several rooms and are pretty obtrusive. The ones in the kitchen are 7ft long and although I've tried to loop them and cable tie them, they're really in the way. Can I just cut them? I know it would mean they'd need sorting if shy was to be reinstalled, but we'll never have Sky.

Can you just pull them back through from the outside?
Mine (also no longer used for Sky, but can use for FreeSat) is just through a hole in the wall.

Yeah of you dont want/need them cut them off at the wall

Oh good, thank you

I did pull them back through the wall, couldn't pull all the way as the connector was on the end, but it means there's masses of extra wire outside. But now I know I can lop it off, I'll do that 😃

To tidy up the outside it would be worth removing the dish & cables, will make a massive difference.
If you do strip it all out, don't forget to fill all the holes (where cables ran through the walls plus were the dish was fixed and the cable-clips fixed) to prevent damp / frost damage.

Thank you, I'll cut them off for the time being and then see if I can find a long ladder to borrow to remove the dish and the rest of the wires too.
