Selling / Moving House

We are thinking of moving in the next couple of years. It is a long time since we have moved, and there will be a LOT of decluttering to do first. I know quite a few youngsters at the moment buying their first properties, and have been thinking about how long the whole legal process is, and how their experience is every time they think they are getting closer, the solicitors then have to ask the vendors for yet another document, which has to be tracked down.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a list (website maybe?) of things I (as a vendor) would be likely to be asked for, so we can get all our paperwork in order, ahead of the game?

Thanks

I got the Which guide to buying and selling a house from the library but there is also info on their website:

Ours was basically any paperwork to do with when we bought the house, guarantees for things like roof work, planning permission for extension, FENSA certificates.

Something like these 2 forms will be required by your solicitor to send to the buyers’ solicitor initially. They may then come back to ask questions.

These give you a good basic idea to start off finding the minimum info that you’ll need to complete the forms.

prdsitecore93.azureedge.net/-/media/files/topics/property/ta10-specimen.pdf

As you can see, one form covers Property information and the other covers the Fittings and Contents

Other info your solicitor will need will be stringent ID checks, mortgage details, estate agent details, etc., all what you would expect.

Ooh, thank you. I never thought of which.
