I mcniering 2 options for spices;

  1. to put a 20 - 30 am cm pull out cargo tall unit
  2. to put 2 small pull outs on each side of the hob ( 20 min)
in option 2 - close to hob, but I would need to bend for spices in the bottom of pull out

I have a narrow pull out either side of my hob where I keep things like oil, vinegar, soy sauce etc. but spice jars would just fall out. I keep my spices in a storage box in a full size cupboard and remove the whole box when I need them.

Here’s a pic showing one of the narrow pull out cupboards

I have a revolving spice rack in a cupboard. I wouldn't put spices right next to an oven as they keep better in a cool, dark place.

I wouldn’t put my spacs in a big pull out unit, no.

Mine are in racks like this on the inside of a cupboard just above and next to the hob, with the door opening towards the hob. I did it super convenient www.lakeland.co.uk/63434/Lakeland-Small-Stick-and-Stay-Storage-Caddy?src=gfeed&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqZLlsKnU9QIVS7DtCh3dcgz0EAQYASABEgIcgfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I have stuck them carefully so that there is room for more spices and flavouring on the shelf below where the rack protrudes into the cupboard.

But I am reasonably tall (169Cms)

Put them where you use them. Mine are in a corner bottom cupboard which swings out next to the hob. I'm almost 6' it's fine - the ones I use most are on the top shelf.
