Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes vs Ikea Pax?

We have just nearly finished a big renovation and I have completely am running out of steam (and money).

I have also been quite unwell during last part of the build and just don't have the energy for millions of appointments and store visits (don't mind a couple).

We need fitted wardrobes in three bedrooms and I just haven't got a clue where to start. Are the Ikea PAX almost as good as a fitted wardrobe company (if put together well)? Is the main difference that you are restricted in terms of height and can't fit along a sloped ceiling for example? Or is it more than that.

And of the fitted companies - any recommendations for reasonably priced solutions?

Thanks.

Thank you so much @nameychange
That looks amazing, it really does make a difference adding the extra panel and strip.

@nameychange That look fantastic! Would you mind sharing some pictures of the base? Also I'm not quite sure what panel you've used at the top?

Both the base and the top are the deco strip. It can be fitted either showing the wide edge or the narrow, so on the bottom it’s the wide edge and on the top it’s the narrow.

I have Pax in my dressing room and love them. I've rejigged the interiors over the years as my storage needs changed, it's very easy to take shelves out, move rails, and add new bits as necessary. And there are so many options for the interiors!

The middle ground which we've just done, is made to measure flat pack. We got some from Online Bedroom, I think it was about £2k for an almost 3 m run, with six doors. They look amazing, go floor to ceiling, and fit the space perfectly. But they were harder to build than IKEA. We paid our builder £150 to cut and fix the trim around, as that was beyond us!

Have PAX in two bedrooms, one has been in place for 12 years and would definitely recommend. We customised the internals, so shoes, shelves, racks as you can, so very versatile and the only thing we've done, in the 12 years, is change the handles.
