Bathroom light pull is it safe

Hi,
In my bathroom there is a light pull cord and next to that a pull cord for the shower are these safe to have with your children around? We are always warned about loose blind pulls but what about in the bathroom. I never actually use my shower anyway but would a light switch be better?

The warning about blind pulls is because they are in loops so easy to get tangled. I can’t see how a child would be able to climb up and get tangled in light pull cords unless they trail down very low? They’re standard fittings. If you get a light switch, it would have to be installed outside the bathroom.

I see thank you. The cords are pretty low down I suppose I could shorten them.

I have one in my bathroom, we shortened it just to be on the safe side, you can buy short ones or just make a knot in it
