In the middle of a town very close to where we used to live, but the back garden is at such an angle from streetlights that’s it’s like a little dark sky area. The stars are great.

Fantastic draw on the chimney.

The water pressure is amazing.

How soft the water is (I thought it was a hard water area and was prepared to drop some cash on a water softener). We have foxes and badgers in the garden, as well as a wealth of incredible trees, shrubs and bushes that were all waiting to be rediscovered after we moved in - the garden was a complete jungle, but time and energy have restored it to something wonderful.

Discovering the original wooden floorboards under the old, mouldy carpets and underlay and cheap laminate flooring. They came up a treat and really give the place some character.

That the boiler didn't need replacing and was as efficient as any newer model - we'd steeled ourselves for a big bill to replace it, so this was a very welcome piece of news the day we moved in and had it checked over, serviced and recommissioned.

South west facing garden. Backing onto long gardens of bungalows. Set down lower so really really private. Love it!

Lovely quiet neighbours

Set back from the road and higher so really private and no one can see in.

Minutes walk from shop, pub, community centre and fields!

Really good sized floorplan we've played around with and got loads more usable space.

Everything is very handy - two large supermarkets, doctor, dentist, variety of shops all within 10 min walking distance. We bought the house in a hurry so didn't have much time to look round the area, so that was a nice surprise.

It's busy and noisy round here but we get a huge amount of wildlife in our garden, which makes me really happy. I have loads of bird feeders up so that I can enjoy watching them. There's a trio of robins that visit every day and it makes me smile every time I see them.

Ours is a terrace that's almost exactly east/west facing so no south facing windows which I thought may make it sad and dark at first. However it turns out that our bedroom and living room catch the morning sun all year round and the west facing garden gets full evening sun til it sets.

The very best surprise is that the window of our neighbours opposite reflects the afternoon/evening sun back into our house so the 'dark' side is also full of light until late in the day. A lovely quirk we only discovered after living here for a while.
