Possible knotweed?

Morning all
We are buying a property which has a large section of what (now) looks like bamboo, but the tenants have also described some shoots coming through that look a bit different (only appear in spring but were cut down by vendor before we visited)

Any advice on what to do? We are aware that the 'bamboo' (pictured from late Sept), could be knotweed and would value opinions!
Would a rics buildings survey look in the garden? We have a level 3 survey booked next week
Thank you!

The pictures aren’t clear enough to be definitive but yes, a RICS surveyor ought to pick it up if it’s there. Note to them ahead of time that you’d like them to give attention to the garden.

Even if it is knotweed it may not pose a huge problem as it looks quite a distance from any building. RICS categorise the level of concern by distance - generally anything over 7 metres from the property is low concern and, with a treatment plan in place, is acceptable to most mortgage lenders.

Can't make it out but even if it is, it's very easily managed.
