Wallpapering and putting shelves up....what to do first?

I have never put wallpaper up before, and need some advice, if anyone can help?

As per the title, I want to wallpaper a wall, and also attach some shelves and a tv bracket to the same walls.

Is it best to drill all of the holes for the shelving and tv bracket before I start wallpapering?

The reason I ask, is that the wall is really solid and difficult to drill in to. So im worried if, I put the wallpaper up first, and then do the drill the holes.....and then my drilling doesn't go smoothly/gets a bit messy, I might ruin the newly applied wallpaper!

So I'm thinking maybe it's best to pre drill all the holes first? But will this cause any problems with actually putting the wallpaper up over the holes?

I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this! Any advice most appreciated!

Good idea to pre drill the walls I normally put a matchstick in the holes so they poke through the wallpaper a little without damaging it plus you can find the screw holes easily good luck with the project.

When we put new wallpaper up there are often holes where we have taken stuff down so we just wallpaper over the holes and then use them again to put stuff back up. Make sure you mark on the wallpaper where the holes are as sometimes they can be difficult to find when you come to put the stuff up at a later time.

Mathsticks or cocktail sticks work well indicating the holes. Easier to mark the wall and drill before hanging the paper. Mind the brick dust if red brick as it can stain.
