Hello! I am looking to move to Malden Rushett and I haven’t been in this area before so would love if anyone can share what the area is like. Is it a safe place? I’ve heard the traffic is bad, is that true? Trains? Would be very greatful for anyone who knows the area

Hi - Malden Rushett is an area around a busy main cross road between Epsom, Oxshott snd Chessington. Most of the houses are on the busy main road although there are a few smaller roads. The nearest station would be either Oxshott/Chessington/Leatherhead/ Epsom but none are walking distance. There is a bus route though. Shopping wise you have a BP/M&S garage, garden centre with farm shop. Other amenities are a drive away. Chessington World of Adventures is up the road so traffic can be busy. It is on the edge of beautiful Epsom/Ashtead common. I would go and have a look and see what you think …..

Thank you! Hmm that’s a difficult decision! I went around lunch time so traffic wasn’t bad but guess I haven’t seen it at other times of days. That is an issue I guess if trains aren’t very close by. I wonder how long it would take during summer holidays.

Why Malden Rushett? It’s just a busy crossroads with houses lining the four roads.

Completely agree with both of the previous posters, it is very busy indeed almost all of the time.

Agree with other posters, it can get very congested, epecially during the season when Chessington World of Adventures is open. I would imagine most houses around the crossroads deal with a fair bit of traffic noise, and maybe poor air quality from all the idling vehicles.

Malden Rushett is near Epsom. In terms of local facilities etc there is also a farm shop near that is attached to a garden centre, a theme park, and a lovely common to walk on. I recommend driving there in order to take a look and then make a informed sensible decision. But do not forget about the level of noise however from cars. In fact that should be a important factor on your list.
