Sockets in awkward places - solution?

Good evening!

We have these ntl and BT sockets/lines near the door of the side return.

They are on the skirting.

Can they be moved by an electrician?

Also, what can be done with them to make them less ugly? The wires literally come in through a hole through the outside wall 😑

We will try getting an electrician in to have a look at this area - plus on the other side of the room (more surface mounted sockets sticking out!) but I wanted some thoughts and input on how it can be done.

It just looks like a mess

Thank you!

If they are not being used you can remove them - take the socket face off and then unscrew the socket from the skirting board. Then either cut off or pull out the wire and fill/paint the skirting board.

If they are being used its relatively easy to relocate the socket. To do it properly you will need a telephone engineer rather than an electrician - BT can do it for a standard charge or around £130 or so but a local telephone engineer could probably do it for half that
