K rend vs rendering

Hi, hoping more knowledgeable mumsnetters can explain the difference between krend and bog standard render, and the pros and cons of both. Gable end of the house needs redoing and it's an absolute pain to reach so ideally want something that will last and look ok for a good few years. Thanks

K-rend is self coloured. Bog standard render needs painting. The finishing technique is also different. K-rend has a foundation then main coats and then, partially dry, is scrapped down to an even textured coat. It's a pretty nice finish but wouldn't blend with your other wall, if they're rendered.

normal render is 2 coats of sand and cement, i think K rend is sprayed on...popular in australia...not seen much in the uk....possibly its more flexible so may not crack etc....

New build. K rend is cracking! Wish it was brick!
