Wow kitchen advice without big island etc

We don't have the space (or budget !) to do the big contemporary kitchen / diner extension with big island etc which seeks to feature in most kitchen articles and will need to stick to a layout similar to the one shown in pic below.

It's a traditional semi detached house and there will be space for a table and a small sofa on the other side of this. Has anyone seen any lovely examples of this?
They don't seem to crop up much on Instagram etc and would love some inspiration.

Thanks !

@dahliaaa - see first two photos for examples of the workstop and window sill at the same level. This example is usual raised sill.

I am torn between the two, as I put a window box of herbs on my raised sill (it’s wide enough to hold small plant pot).
I would have thought the window would have loads of water marks if it has a sink right in front of it

Photos uploaded in the wrong order! 1st and 3rd are the level sills and counter; 2nd is the raised sill

@ginislife interesting! Fortunately our builder let us have the kitchen at his price so it was £6k plus £1k to fit it.

We've just done our kitchen in a very similar layout but the opposite way around and we don't have a window. We have navy matt cupboards and white quartz worktops and posh handles from Plank Hardware. We also have a silver range and splashback. I absolutely LOVE our penisular, it's such a brilliant space and I much prefer it to an island.

I've been struggling with Covid headache today so this thread is welcome respite!
Thank you for the window pics - really useful to see (and also the price comparisons.)
