Portable loo

Hi, has anyone got a portable loo permanently in their garden as a substitute for not having the space for a downstairs toilet / cloakroom?
Anyone got any nice looking ones?
Thanks

My friend has an original WC outhouse in her back garden. It’s really useful for summer house and garden parties with loads of people because it saves so many people going indoors, but it never gets used apart from that. Nobody wants to schlepp out into the garden in the cold or rain to use the toilet. Unless there’s an imperative reason for wanting one (disabled family member, lots of elderly visitors) then it’s really not worth thinking about.

Also be aware that the chemicals in them smell disgusting!

The other thing to consider, which is always controversial is a macerator loo.

Of course, there still needs to be space for one, but because they don’t need to be located near the soil pipe, having one enables lots of houses to have a 2nd loo, which they couldn’t have otherwise.

We have one in our loft en-suite. Have had it about 5 years without any trouble. Lots of people hate them and they can have issues with blockages, but the modern Ines are better than old ones. Can work for people who can control what is out down the loo - so no good if small kids might throw random stuff down loo, or lots of guests will use it and disregard a little sign which says that wipes etc will block the loo. But if it’s an en-suite for private use, or in a bathroom occasionally used and you can make sure it won’t be abused, it can be a good solution to only having 1 loo otherwise.

I have no idea if a macerator loo could be put in a shed or outhouse. Possibly it could be.
