Heated Wall?

We are doing a bathroom with limited space and also would like an uncluttered aesthetic.

You know the electric heated floor matts you put under tiles - does anyone have this on a wall?

So we can have heated floor and a heated wall with just hooks to dry towels on? Is this insane? Ever been done?

It wouldn’t be warm enough to dry towels on. Floor tiles with underfloor heating don’t feel hot, they just feel not cold IYSWIM.

I’d be worried they’d get drilled through, which would be a huge problem…

I think this is a great idea. I have electric under floor heating in my bathroom and the tiles most definitely feel toasty warm. I think an equivalent wall panel would certainly dry the towels.

It would, we have UFH in our conservatory. I often lay towels and sheets on the floor when it's on to dry.

Yes thats a point! Would need to mark where to drill in the hooks or bars somehow before we tile over.

I stayed in a hotel recently that had this - it was lovely and the towels were most definitely warm

Did the hotel have hooks or bars for the towels? I am wondering if them lying flat facilitates the drying IYSWIM rather than crinkled on a hook.

It's pretty common in some countries, definitely not crackers.
