New front door - We Do Doors?

Hi everyone

Looking for a new front door. We had a quote from our local solidoor supplier for £2.2k recently. I know doors are expensive but these seems on the higher end plus I didn’t get on at all with the sales man. So we looked elsewhere and I’ve now had a quote for £1.7k from We Do Doors. Saleswoman was lovely and doors look good but their showrooms in Scotland and I’m really nervous spending this much money without seeing the door in person so wondering is anyone else had used them and can recommend, or otherwise? Would love it if you can share any photos too so I can get an idea.

Open to other door recommendations too if you have any

Thanks!

Hello... just wondering if you went ahead with 'we do doors?'

I've been quoted £3480 with a local company for a front door.

Had a much much cheaper quote from we do doors.... but a little skeptical like you were.

No advice on We Do Doors but we found a Solidor supplier elsewhere in the country was much much cheaper than our local one so would recommend shopping around. We would happily have given our local one the business given we visited their showroom to find out about the door but with almost £1k saving, it was a no brainer to go elsewhere

We got a composite door from We Do Doors last year and were very happy with the service and quality of the door. They sent someone round quickly to take the measurements and they were able to offer advice on a more suitable option. As I understand they employ local approved tradesmen to fit their doors. Plus you don't start paying for the door until you are 100% happy with it and we took out the 0% finance option and paid for it over a year so the cost wasn't too much of a burden. In short, would definitely recommend. Our front doors are from Solidor and I can't really see any difference between them.

We used we do doors for our front door. Couple of years ago and still really happy with the quality . Service was also good and decent value .

Last door was from we do doors, door itself was fine but the lead time was double what they originally quoted and they put the handle in the wrong place despite sending a photo and diagram on the order.

Took over a year to sort and had to involve the finance company as they stopped replying at one point. They did eventually replace the door with the handle in the right place.

The lock also started sticking about 4 months after installation.

My neighbour had a poor experience with them. The door she got looked a lot different to the pictures - rather than scale down the dimensions proportionally, they just squashed the top section, which looks horribly dumpy and like a major design flaw. We Do Doors refused to accept that it wasn’t as per the drawing and were very aggressive about pursuing full payment.

Poor visual design aside, the door is decent enough. If you get one I suggest insisting on viewing and approving the door they bring you before you let them take off your existing door. Otherwise you’re a bit stuck in terms of accepting it.
