Walk in wardrobe in eaves

Does anyone have any experience of designing a walk on wardrobe in their eaves? We are renovating and converting our attic space to accommodate 2 bedrooms and we had space blocked off to create 2 walk in wardrobes.

My builder wants to meet with me because he feels that once the velux goes in, there'll be little space for a wardrobe.

There isn't any other place for it though so need to make this space work.

Any suggestions?

If you watch Series 7 episode 2 of Kirsty and Phil Love it or list it there are some suggestions. Channel 4 catch up.

In one of Stacey Solomans Sort your life out programmes there was a great walk in wardrobe created under the eaves . It was in the 2nd series but i cant recall which one it was. I was very impressed with the design.

Was about to say the same love Kirsty and Phil, just redone our loft after that episode.

Def look for a plan B…Every house I have seen with these is just wasted space that is awkward and unusable (sorry!)

I quite like the ones where the eaves are push out deep drawers and wardrobes are elsewhere

In our attic conversion we reconfigured the design to create a powder room and make wall space for a wardrobe instead of a long (impractical) walk in

I would take to someone like Karen at one plan and see what she can do for you.

Thanks everyone. Frantically looking for ideas in readiness for meeting the builder tomorrow.

Would an open wardrobe work? So you wouldn't block off the window light?

The Sort your life our programme mentioned above was Series 1 episode 5. Just incase you haven’t found it! If you go right to the end of the programme, it is at about 53 minutes in where Trey show the end build.

Sorry lots of typos there! Sort your life out on BBC. And should say ‘in, where they’

Thanks @Hollytreenew - I'll have a look tomorrow. Have just finished watching the Kirsty and Phil episode. I'd already hoped to use the ideas they had so at least it's confirmed that I'm on the right track. We're only having a velux on the one side so I'm confused why a rail can't be used on the other sloping wall.

I'll speak to the builder tomorrow - hopefully the weather will hold off. Tiles aren't on yet 🙈
