What to do about this? Photo

Hi all,

I have a cracked concrete sill causing damp in a bay window. The windows themselves are being replaced in April or may so I want the damp issue solved before then to avoid ruining an expensive new timber window. My question is: who do I hire to do it? An exterior decorator? Bricklayer? Aware that it’s a pretty tiny job…

The sills obviously but I’m guessing that cracks aside it would make sense to do that after the windows which will cause disruption to decoration inside and out.

Advice welcome!

How about asking the window company that you have booked for April? They might have someone to resolve such problems when they come across them during installation.

My neighbours have just done theirs. The decorator cut the crack to make it bigger and straighter then filled it and painted it.

Thank you both! I was hoping to dry the wall out before the window goes in but that might not be essential.
