Can I use floor paint on skirting and woodwork?

Good evening (again!),

I have started doing up a room, and there are so many chips on all the doors and skirting. There were some when we moved in, but they have dramatically increased (kids!).

I wanted to ask if it is a good idea to use floor paint on skirting and door surrounds? I would want it to potentially match other areas I intend to paint (woodwork) and not having used floor paint before, don’t know much about it; it’s finishes etc.

But considering it’s meant to be super durable, could I do this?

Thank you 🙂

I'm no expert but I would say yes! Floor paint is the most durable so should be fine. I've just painted my stairs and have used the floor paint for the skirting so the colour is the same. It's the most durable.
Much better than using skirting board paint on the floor!!

I used floor paint on kitchen cupboards and it has has been fine on the, , better than the floor. I’m currently painting doors, skirting etc and have forked out on ScuffX from Benjamin Moore as has good reviews by the trade and is designed for commercial use. It is touch dry quickly but then takes a couple of weeks to go completely hard so you’d have to be careful till it did.

Thank you so much, sounds good. I just really want to avoid chips if I can.

Can I ask what the finish is like? Is it between satin and Matt?

I have Satin which has just a slight sheen. I think they have it in different finishes. I can’t vouch for it yet but am planning to sell so hoping it avoids chips and scuffs whilst house on the market.

Ah I didn’t realise it came in different finishes - will have a look, thank you!
