2 appliance Qs - Range Cooker w/induction hob and upright freezer w/ice maker

Has anybody got either of these range cookers and, if so, would you recommend them or not?

Smeg Opera
Rangemaster Professional Plus

Second Q - is there such a thing as a decent upright freezer (standard 60cm-ish wide) with a (non-plumbed in) ice-maker & dispenser? The only one I've found so far is this, which appears to be out of stock everywhere (although if this is the route I decide to take I wont be buying for a few months yet).

My DD has the range. It’s fab according to her dh who is the cook in the house!

Sorry, it’s the Rangemaster she has.

That's good to hear, thank you.

ATM, I'm dithering between a revamp and a completely new kitchen. I hate, with a depthless passion, the gas range cooker that was here when we bought the house and it's nearly put me off the thought of any range cooker at all. But what I do like about those two is the fact that they have a decent-sized oven, and the hobs have good old--fashioned knob controls.

My two cents: I considered a Smeg range (we've just finished a kitchen renovation) but whilst they're aesthetically pleasing, Smeg ovens are pretty loud and the fan keeps going forever, long after the oven has been turned off. We had a Smeg normal oven in our old house, and it's only now that we have used a different oven that we realise how loud it was. Check out reviews - others have commented on the same issue.

Re Rangemaster, I think they're having serious supply issues. When I tried to get hold of one (the classic one) back in October, they were predicting the ovens coming back in stock in the spring. So just check you can actually get hold of the oven you want before you get too set on it!

Good advice, thank you.

I need to track one down and see it in the flesh before I make a decision, and I might yet decide to have a completely new kitchen instead of a revamp.

I have the freezer - the ice maker is great when you remember to fill it up. I generally tend to check it whenever I’m in the freezer, which is probably every other day, but I always have a bag of ice in a drawer just in case.

We are buying a house with a space for a range cooker - I hate range cookers so much I want a new kitchen - floor level ovens are a big design flaw! Can’t decide what to do, really don’t want to pay for a new kitchen or a range.
