Converted use properties

I am looking at a property within a converted school building. I know that 'converted use' has specific regulations that must be met. Just wondering if anyone has come across problems connected with this (proper planning permission not sought, unexpected rent charges etc.)?

Surely your solicitor will look into all that and the management pack will help too. I've haven't lived in one but friends have and no issues other than the usual flat stuff.
