When will the first mortgage payment be?

I'm managing to confuse myself over here! 😂

Mortgage payments to be taken on 1st of every month.
If we move into the house on 21st January, will the first mortgage payment be on 1st Feb or 1st March?

I know the first payment will be higher. Some places I'm reading say that you are in for a full month before £££ taken (so would be 1st March) others suggest otherwise. The actual mortgage paperwork isn't too clear either! (Nationwide mortgage)

Thanks in advance x

It depends on the lender. We moved on the 18th so we had a payment on the 15th of the following month which was big and the normal payment the next month on the 1st.

It explains towards the bottom of this page www.nationwide.co.uk/mortgages/first-time-buyers/guide/

Our sale went through on the 06th Jan and we paid our first mortgage payment on the 01st Feb but think it would depend in the lender. They will be anle to tell you when your ready to take the mortgage out.

My mortgage is with nationwide and I got tge keys to my house on the 23 October. First mortgage payment was 7 Nov (although will usually come out on the 1st of the month). A letter was sent to be on approx the 27th October telling me that was going to be the case

We completed on the 20th of the month and 3 weeks later the 1st payment went out.

We completed on 24 October and our first payment was taken on 1st December (Santander).
