You'd need a lot of people to fill those sofas.

CottonSock · 13/12/2021 18:23

I'd want more than 5 bedrooms for my 15 mil. And no photos of horsey stuff was disappointing.

megletthesecond · 13/12/2021 18:23

A cold, grey, box.
White is good but with grey it always looks awful.
No trees nearby either.

londonmummy1966 · 13/12/2021 18:25

I think we'll have to agree to differ Ohwhere as I don't like either of your choices - first one is bland and the second unbalanced.

Billybagpuss · 13/12/2021 18:35

Love the Steinway (although I’d have bigger in that space)
Love the pool
Love the fact all the bedrooms the beds can look out of the window
Love how much land

Hate all the decor and the clinical feel of the house
Hate the land I’d plant a native wood as a very start
Actually really hate the house. I could find much nicer for 15m

SiobhanSharpe · 13/12/2021 18:40

Doesn't SirAlan live in (or near) Chigwell?
Sorry, forgot, -- he's now LordS....

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 13/12/2021 19:25

Wow - love the exterior and setting, love the pool and bathrooms, hate the rest of the decor. The purple chair in the hallway is the worst bit, looks like it belongs to the mad hatter, not in a good way.
But if I had a spare 16millon and could redecorate throughout, and magical powers to relocate it to nearby me, I wouldn't say no.

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 13/12/2021 19:28

I'd prefer the Kent one - 💯

HermioneWeasley · 13/12/2021 19:36

@Sparklfairy that Lympne one is gorgeous

Exhausteddog · 13/12/2021 19:38

Someone tidier than ne, who needs sone colour in their life.
I don't like it that much tbh.

Bimblybomeyelash · 13/12/2021 20:02

@londonmummy1966

I appreciate that is a nicer house, but all I can think is SPIDERS EVERYWHERE!

At least the soulless warehouse is cobweb free!

Defiantly41 · 13/12/2021 20:18

Another modern mansion, this one's an absolute bargain www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/95811467

Man, those are some pelmets. Shock

GnomeDePlume · 14/12/2021 09:07

It isnt how I would spend my spare £15m. It's tricky though. If I got taken rich what would my ideal home be? I wouldnt want to be too isolated, worries about security, health crises (summed up by the thought would anyone hear me if I screamed?).

NdujaWannaDance · 14/12/2021 09:11

It looks like the inside of many a 5 star hotel in the middle east I've been in. Which is not necessarily a compliment.

All that money and you get the same naff glass staircase surround going in every bad taste 500k new build up and down the country. Urrgh.
I bloody hate those - can't wait to see the back of that particular trend.

I like the fridge freezer though.

NdujaWannaDance · 14/12/2021 09:25

Someone without children! It’s very clinical looking. Not at all comfortable

Exactly. I imagine some very rich but still quite young footballer, who having spent all his money getting interior designers in, rattles around the rooms on his own, wondering WTF he's supposed to do with them all, then goes round his mum's to have his tea and play Playstation with is brother.

The whole house screams White Elephant to me. I doubt any of those bedrooms get slept in apart from the master. And that kitchen doesn't get cooked in, either. There's a fridge full of meals from M&S, I'll bet on it.

I find it quite sad actually. It's not someone's true home and it never will be. It's the sort of place very rich people buy when they have nothing else to do with their money, stay in occasionally, get bored with then sell to someone else who will spend millions refurbishing it in 5 years time only to repeat the whole sad cycle again.

SpeedRunParent · 14/12/2021 17:14

A sea of White and grey, how very predictable. Utterly lacks any individual style.
Did someone already say footballer? Reality tv person?

MrsBobDylan · 14/12/2021 20:12

I'm beginning to wonder if all rich folk have shit taste?

All those matching cushions in the same slippy beige fabric...it's an epidemic of ugly cushions.

The bathrooms are an accident waiting to happen imo. All sharp granite corners and lethally smooth floors.

MrsBobDylan · 14/12/2021 20:16

The slippy thing has just reminded me of a holiday cottage I stayed in once with fantastically expensive Chesterfield sofas.

Impossible to sit on without sliding off!!

Whoever is paid to arrange the slippy cushions probably does over time trying to get the fuckers to stay up. Nightmare.
