How to win a Best and Finals?

Our dream home is going to best and finals tomorrow.
There are lots of offering parties.
Does anyone have any tips on how we might increase our chances of being successful? Thanks!

Offer at least 10% over asking ? If you're in a strong position eg no chain then make sure it is known. Other than that I don't think there's much you can do !

Offer your competitors ££ to walk away? Sibling of someone famous did that to us when we were trying to buy the same house. Didn’t work though. We got the house and weren’t the highest bidder. Vendor thought we were the most reliable and we’d see it through, apparently.
Make the best offer you can without paying over the odds? Don’t get too emotionally invested. Resign yourself to knowing that if you don’t get it, it wasn’t meant to be?
If it’s your dream home, then appease the fairies and bury a silver coin on the land - never fails in our family. 😉

Make sure that whatever you offer you are happy with and you are not going to be thinking, if you get the house, did I offer too much?
Houses have just stopped going to best and final where I live but lots come back on the market or are actually sold to a runner up bidder because the top bidder backs out.

Go for an odd figure so instead of bidding £570 or whatever, bid £577. Good luck!

My house went to best and finals about ten years ago. I went with the best offer from the people in the best position. They were also selling their own house (under offer) through the same estate agent so I felt the agent would really try and ensure both sales went through. It was 5% over ask, and I got an offer 10% over but they were not under offer. They all wrote letters about how much they loved it etc but that didn't sway me at all, but it might someone else.
