1000mm butler/belfast sink - Shaws? Any other options?

It appears my kitchen design works better with a 1000mm double butler/belfast sink rather than 800 to avoid a 100mm gap.

Is the only option a Shaws or does anyone know of anyone else who does this size? needs to be white. Thanks

I think with your issue I’d probably use a 100mm filler each side of an 800 unit if you can’t find a 1000mm sink. It will look fine once painted.

cloudtree - did you feed that back to HMKC. I feel like they dont have enough hinges in general? Not sure my kids could reach handles mid way. Is there anything you regret/would do differently??

I can get a 1000 sink buty only from shaws as far as i know - just wanted other options to compare really. shaws do about 4 different styles in 1000

We haven’t fed back about the hinges since we ended up going with the midway placement but all of our cabinet doors are quite hard to open. It would be good toddler proofing if you have teenies.

My shaws sink caused most of our problems. Their sticker saying that the variations are part of their beauty is no comfort when your quartz fitter is getting stroppy and you’re having to get emergency joinery work sorted to plane the veneers from your cabinets.

Shaws have also suspended sales so you might have a long wait.

We have this [Villeroy and Boch https://www.tapwarehouse.com/p/villeroy-boch-6323-691-r1?ppc=true&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItLefndfc9AIVRpnVCh3EfwDnEAQYBCABEgJZOfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds 900mm one

Would something like this work?

kitchenskitchen · 11/12/2021 21:32

shaws are not selling direct as so busy but it seemed ok to get from some suppliers at them moment - but who knows if i order!

were the knobs on larder doors placed together at centre. would it work better to have a pair on each side at the bifold or is that not functional

i definitely dont need to toddler proof and need it to be easy to open! I thought the non magnetic ones were even harder to pull on their samples.

did you have a sink unit with frame ie 880 for 800 sink? was quartz fitter just annoyed as waiting for sink to be fitted so it delayed him or did it actually impact on work top?

cataline - thank you 900 might work but i want it to sit under the worktop edges. However i was even more concerned about 900 being discontinued than 1000. i am keener on 800 as available from lots of options so likely to be less issues with replacement should it get damaged for example but just wont work in layout.

Your layout is giving you too many issues in my view. Too late to do anything about it though.

kitchenskitchen · 11/12/2021 23:09

why is it too late to alter the layout? I dont have to sign off the plans until Feb - that should be plenty of time to source a sink and try some options with a corner unit

zeror - oh i see why you thought kitchen is already made because i said floor has been laid ready for the kitchen delivery. Floor is laid ready but units are not confirmed.

This is what i was trying to explain re corner/sink/chimney

1000mm butler/belfast sink - Shaws? Any other options?

So would your sink butt right up to the corner unit?

kitchenskitchen · 13/12/2021 15:47

Yes almost if 1000 sink was used with frame so 1080 (maybe a couple of cm of filler. i need sink/tap central on window and have constraint of structural chimney as picture other side of corner unit. alternatively i could used 800 sink and have tray or chopboard built in to the space. I am getting less keen on 1000 sink as only made by shaws and i dont want to have something only supplied by one company.
