Omnitub or standard bath?

My bathroom is small & only one bathroom in the house. I'd really like an Omnitub with shower over. Probably 1500 x 800 so not much shorter than a standard bath but much deeper.
There's a chance though I'll need to move in the next 3 years or so ( early retirement, won't be able to afford this house).
Would a non standard bath be a daft idea ? I just want to please myself for once & enjoy a deep soak.

I would be very happy with it but it is the non standard option. How easy are they to climb in and out of for a shower?

I have a Snowden bath from Victoria Plumbing which is smaller than the size you're talking about and I love it, but it's only me that has baths and we have a separate shower. The plumbers thought it was hilariously small.

Could you do anything clever like tiling first, then fitting your omnitub, so you can whip it out (to take with you) and put in a standard bath tub when you sell?

You've every right to please yourself with your own bathroom. But for resale the Omni is expensive to buy and may put off people with 2 kids to bath, or those worried about stepping in and out to shower. Whatever you do, make sure you get the bath you want in your next house!

Good point about stepping in & out - I've never seen one in real life!
I like the idea of taking it with me Smile
Think I may go for the sensible option this time & leave the Omnitub for my next house.
Thanks for the input - helps to hear other views

That kind of deep bath is lovely for a soak once in a while, but I wouldn't want to have to climb in & out for a shower everyday. i'd only do it if there was space to have a separate shower.

Lockdown. I keep looking at these. Which size did you have and is it’s comfortable to have a relaxing bath in?
