I have the actual smart meter, just not the thing you plug into the wall.

Can I just buy any one and it will work?

Hi Hottubparty. I'm afraid not. The IHD needs to be paired with the meter, so you either need one from your supplier or one from a vendor like Hildebrand who have the ability to pair IHDs to a meter.

Good news is that if your smart meter is less than 12 months old most vendors will replace IHDs.
