Telling EA having survey done

Hi all,

I'm complete novice.
I've just had offer accepted and mortgage offer through. My surveyor is making contact with EA this afternoon to arrange his inspection time.

He's suggested I let the EA know he'll be getting in touch this morning as a courtesy.

My Q. should I tell EA a reason I'm having a survey done? Mortgage survey has downvalued a lot, would it be wise to mention this or not at this stage please? I'm also unsure at this point whether I intend re-negotiating on price as unless survey is v bad, I need to make the house move.

Thanks so much for any and all advice! Smile

Hiya, just ring the estate agent and tell them to expect your surveyor's call as you're having a survey done. No need to go into any more detail than that - the time to renegotiate is once you have the survey results (it's very normal to have a survey done - I think the vast majority of buyers get one!)
