I’m confused - your photo shows the naked fixture. If you screw a bulb into the fixture, there won’t be anywhere for little fingers to go. If you don’t intend to use the ceiling light at all, unwire it at ceiling level and cap it off with a ceiling rose cover.

If its a ceiling light then how would your ds reach it to put his fingers in it?

Do you mean a cover for the lightbulb so he doesn't touch the bulb? Modern LED lightbulbs shouldn't get hot enough for him to burn himself. I guess you could get a lightbulb cage but I don't know whether one would fit with a lampshade as well.

I dont want to put a bulb in my has SN. I've put some masking tape on for now he had a star lamp attached to the wall.

Could you put an uplighter shade or a ball shade on it to hide the bit the bulb sits in?

Previous poster has the right answer - replace with a ceiling rose. Your current solution is dangerous!

Can't you just switch the light off at the light off at the wall switch?

Or I suppose using a blown bulb would be safer (but might pose a short circuit risk).
