@PoshWatchShitShoes thank you; I feel fine but just so frustrated that after all the effort to get things ready for Christmas, it doesn't matter now as Christmas is officially cancelled here!

Decorator turned up this morning with a pot of pale pink paint for the skirting which matches perfectly - I love him. It is amusing me so much that we’re going full pink and DH cannot say a word after #paintgate

I'm on site. The scaffolding is coming down at the front. Looks nice where they've repaired and painted render from new windows going in.

Fireplace is being fitted right now!! It looks lovely from what I can see.

Need to pop into kitchen to see progress there.

Wood floors throughout downstairs have been stained and sealed. Currently wet, so I can only go into house at either side and not in middle or upstairs.

Electricians were here earlier to fix some snagging, connect the internet cables and put up the outside spots .... great job except I only noticed after they left that the light fittings were white instead of black 🤦‍♀️

Joiners are still working in the dark (with lights) finishing the cladding. What I can see looks great will have a proper look in the light.

@wonkylegs I'm feel fine but it's the overall impact on Christmas that's horrible. We have had to cancel all our plans including having the children home and my elderly MIL so a big impact on lots of people's happiness!
A positive for the builders because I'm isolating in a room, I can't "supervise" and only aee things once they have left for the day.

The pink skirting is drying a beautiful shade. The decorator has known DH for 20 odd years so knew him in his heyday and is absolutely loving this, DH is the least pink person you’d ever meet so it’s brilliant

In other news DS is definitely not feeling right. 5 days of negative LFT but is still under the weather so need to do a PCR tomorrow. Argh

Removals people are coming on the 23rd to take away most of our belongings. We are living in whilst the work is done. I know it's going to be so hard, and uncomfortable, but also looking forward to fixing this old house once and for all. It has felt like we have squatted for three years and I'm just done. My current kitchen is below. Roll on January! Merry Christmas everyone.

Oh you so deserve it, I can't wait to see your transformation pics! I have attached my kitchen too as we have squatted for 3 years too. I have drawer fronts that have fallen off and it's just very tired!

@Sewfrickinamazeballs we had the same kitchen floor! And when we took off the first layer we discovered they’d tiler exactly the same underneath!
