Removing integrated fridge and freezer - can you retrofit cabinets?!

We’ve just viewed a house that we love. The kitchen is new but the current owners have put in an integrated under counter fridge and same for the freezer. We need a bigger one and there’s space for an American fridge freezer.

Has anyone removed integrated appliances and retrofitted with normal cabinets without destroying the kitchen and/or worktops?

We have. Easy job (fingers crossed) if the cabinets are standard size, you can order the carcasses without the doors from places like howdens.

Yes, we did this. Took out a tall integrated fridge freezer and turned into cupboards.

Yes. We found the integrated fridge/freezer far to small. So now have shelves in there and an american one instead.

Should be an easy job for a decent kitchen fitter IF you can get matching cabinets etc

We did ours ourselves. Removed kickboard and carefully removed the doors that matched the rest of the kitchen. Removed fridge. Pushed in new mostly matching carcass. We had adjustable legs, wound them up to fit worksurface. Attached new carcass to worksurface. Fitted shelves. Fitted old door to new carcass which meant it matched when doors were closed.
