Sky mini box - can you mount it behind tv on a wall?

Putting a large Tv on a wall in new kitchen / living area and don’t want any leads in show. Builder has put a double plug on wall behind tv and now wondering if the sky mini box can be placed behind the TV to avoid a cable between tv snd sky mini box ? Otherwise builder will need to bury this cable into the wall ! Any thoughts / experience Thks

The mini boxes get quite hot when on so I personally wouldn’t. We used to have the magic eye thingies which meant it was easier to hook up more tv’s to one box and less obtrusive so agree that the mini boxes are a step backwards aesthetically. Sad

I have a sky q mini in my kitchen. I didn't think to put it behind the TV however I am not sure it would work with the remote control? Unfortunately I have a very small amount of cable showing. I might actually see if we could get one of the new sky TVs to avoid the cables as they really annoy me.

Thanks
I guess I’ll wait for it to arrive and take a look
Considered sky glass but way more than the additional multi room subscription and sky just couldn’t give enough details on it yet

We have a TV mounted on a kitchen wall with a sideboard underneath containing a Sky Q mini box. When the wall was being plastered we had the electrician fit trunking behind the plaster so that the cables are chased into the wall. No idea if you can mount behind the TV but pp's point about it getting hot might be a concern.

You do have to use the Bluetooth remote control so we swapped them over, paired the Bluetooth remote with the mini box and use the basic infra-red one in the living room.

We have it behind the TV in our kitchen and remote works, and we have had no issues with heat. It's fine 🙂

Our Q mini box is strapped to the tv mount arm (it’s a telescopic type one) remote works through Bluetooth ( or similar wizardry) so no line of sight needed.

We've got this mount behind our TV for our mini Q box. Works perfectly. The remote is Bluetooth so you don't need a direct line of sight to the box for it to work. The sky man who installed ours told me they were fine behind TVs. Said the only thing I might notice is the box could be a little noisier depending on the mount and whereabouts on the mount I placed the box. He was right- first attempt when the box wasn't centred it was a bit noisy (just a whirring sort of noise). Adjusted it and it's fine now.

Yes you can. We have two mini boxes and both are wall mounted on brackets behind the TVs so you can't see them.

Works perfectly.

Do you know anyone with a 3d printer? If so there is a free print pattern for the bracket @Teaandcakeordeath83 posted above.

Weirdly, I'm just in the process of setting up the very same print to send to my 3d printer for the TV in the corner of my new kitchen.....😂
