Party wall agreement help!

Just looking for some advice on a party wall letter to send to our neighbours.

We’re converting our garage into living space and it adjoins to our neighbours garage.

I can’t work out for the life of me which letter I need to send from the gov website. Is it a structure notice or 3/6 meter letter.

We’re not building an extension we’re just knocking the wall between our dining room and the garage and then will be insulating the adjoining wall to our neighbour’s garage.

Our neighbours are very chilled about it and I’m sure they’ll be fine but want to make sure we do everything properly.

Help!

Are you adding any new load bearing structure on to the wall? ie. a beam? Or are you doing any excavation? If neither, you may not need a party wall notice at all. You don't need one to insulate the wall!

Thanks for the reply. We’re putting a beam above the wall where our dining room wall met our garage wall. But nothing on their wall which is attached to our garage

Doesn't sound like you need one then. But best to get your builder to advise you.

I don't know but we are converting our garage and we've had to contact our local council for building control or something similar. Not planning permission but building regulations. If you contact your local planning dept they might be able to help.
