Electric gates

We have them (installed by the previous owners), my husband loves them but I don’t get it! When are they meant to be shut? At night obviously, but if we close them when we’re out then how can things get delivered? We have a locked letterbox on the gate, but it’s petite! Am I missing something obvious? We’re away for a few nights next week, and I feel like shutting the gates will mean that I come back to a bundle of larger post at my poor neighbours…

(I appreciate this sounds a bit of a humble brag, I promise my house is very average - I think the previous owners just fancied them!)

Can you change the box to a bigger one?

Change the fence alongside if you have one to have an inset panel to hold a larger box?

Ours are connected to my phone so it rings me if someone rings the gate buzzer and I open them. Can you do that?

Change the mailbox to a larger size. I like our gates. No one appears randomly at the front door. Also have an app to open them from my phone, which is super handy for Amazon etc when we're out

I am desperate for electric gates and I do believe Santa already knows I want these! I don't get parcels delivered I only do click and collect for these since some couriers just leave them and take random delivered pics now.

Doesn't the gate have a key code? Our postie and most Amazon drivers know our code and if any new drivers they use the Ring button to call us and we tell them.
