Fishburn County Durham

We are relocating to the north east from south Leicestershire soon and have seen a house in Fishburn that we like. It’s on a new development on the edge of the village.
Can anyone tell me what it’s like living there please. Are there other places I should consider?
I currently live in a village and like the community feel so ideally after somewhere similar.

Hi
What's your budget and where do you need to be near ?
I nearly moved to sedgefield twice so I visited to area a lot and always got the feeling Fishburn might be a bit 'rough' but I could be wrong

If it is the development I think it is that is technically in Sedgefield, Fishburn is a typical ex-mining village, some issues but perhaps not as bad as some areas.

The new development is nice and Sedgefield is just down the road.

Ideally we'd like to spend up to around £300k. Daughter is at college so it would have to be within an easy commute to a college. Also need good road links to towns for work.

Agree with sedgefield being much better than fishburn. It's an okay area but a typical ex mining town (we live in one) with limited facilities. Which college would your daughter be interested in? If she going to Durham have you looked at browney or bowburn which are much nicer their some new builds going up at coxhoe in your budget as well. Darlington is also a good area.

I wouldn’t live in Fishburn itself but the new development on the Sedgefield side is ok. There are houses in Sedgefield for that price too, the community is thriving and bus connections are much better there too.
