Hi :)
Offer accepted on both sale and purchase 4 weeks ago. We’ve had some enquiries through from our buyers last week. They’ve had their searches back. We’ve had draft contracts.
I’m wondering what the sequence of the process is, so I can guess a bit how far we are in and how far we have to go. :)

Sounds like you're a good way in to me. Searches and draft contracts is very near the end from what I remember. Depends how long the chain is though? As everybody has to get in shape together, there might be a long pause between now and when you get a date for completion etc

There are lots that happens simultaneously so there isn't really a fixed sequence. But what needs to happen per property sale (so separately for both purchase and sale) is:

Mortgage Offer (if getting a mortgage)
Survey/Valuation
Searches
Enquiries (this can be quick or can take months depending on if there are any complications)
Draft Contracts (some solicitors do this straight away, some do it only after all the above is complete)

If the enquiries, searches or survey throw up any problems then there are more things to do but that is dependent on the problems.

Sounds promising.
There’s three of us in chain. First time buyers-us-going to rented.
We’ve had searches back, enquiries in, so hopefully things are moving along nicely.
