Moving to Oxford - Wolvercote

We live in Oxfordshire and are looking at moving to Oxford, most likely Wolvercote. Does anyone live there? Does it still feel like you are part of Oxford or does it feel like you are on the outskirts?

Our children will be teens soon so would they have to travel to central Oxford for activities or are things pretty much evenly spread around Oxford?

I'm also a bit confused about catchments as I know Wolvercote is in the Cherwell school catchment but some people say you don't usually get in that far out. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Basically any thoughts on Wolvercote, good or bad would be grateful received.

I don't know about schools apart from Cherwell is extremely popular and people pay £££ to be in the catchment.

Wolvercote is a lovely village especially that it's so close to port meadow. Be warned though port meadow is very busy most of the time now particularly summer.

It's probably fairly easy to get into Oxford (depending on how near you live at the Oxford end of Wolvercote).

I would imagine if the A34 has problems it's hard to work around it and avoid. Traffic generally all around it is busy so it will probably take you longer to get anywhere in rush hour.

Wolvercote is lovely and I would move there in a heartbeat if I could! It has a real village feel but is very easy to get into the city centre (either by bike or bus). You have Port Meadow on your doorstep too!

That's useful, thanks
