Which way to lay Karndean floor in a galley kitchen?

Last major kitchen decision tonight is which way to lay out large Karndean rectangular tiles. It’s a wide, large galley kitchen. Kitchen fitter and DH thinks to lay it with long side following the kitchen units, and I think it’s best to lay them across to make the room look wider. I think laying them length wise will make the room kitchen look like a corridor. Any views? Stone effect tiles not wood.

Lengthwise, they’re right sorry. Cutting the room in half all the way down will make it look narrower.

My instinct is telling me go as your kitchen fitter and DH suggest, with the long side against the kitchen units. I don't think it'll look right the other way, but I can't tell you why!

I'd go lengthwise too. Should be faster to lay if less cutting is involved.

I love my karndean - enjoy 😊
