We have applied to remortgage through virgin money with further borrowing for home improvements. We got a mortgage in principle approved which was then followed up with an hour and half call with one of their 'mortgage advisors' who took all the information I would expect the provide for the full application. He went through affordability etc over the phone and then we were sent the application form which was mostly filled in from our phone call with him. We have signed and sent back and they have only requested payslips. Would you assume much of the affordability checks have been done over the phone? I know during that conversation a hard credit check was done which was successful and he said they won't do another. This is a very different process to when we took our first mortgage out. We have t had to supply any bank statements. Will this be asked for at a later date?
