Walk in wardrobes

Where do I start?

Given the astronomical cost of the build with crazily escalating costs, I'm now having to super-scrutinise every aspect of this so now, my walk in wardrobes (3) will be done on a shoe string.

How have you done yours? I can't afford specialises but neither do I want everything in boxes. Help!

We used pax wardrobes from IKEA to create the spaces we wanted. I used thier online planner. Meant I could work out the exact amount of shelves/rods/drawers/baskets etc we needed for various types of clothes etc
I then got a gorgeous blue and gold dressing table from habitat (from Argos) to go in there as well.

We used the pax to seperate off the end of our long thin bedroom so it became a dressing area.

Fantastic! That's awesome. I'll start looking at their online planner. I need to do a store visit this week too - I'll check out their pax stuff.

Thank you Thanks

If you google "ikea pax walk in closet" and look for images in dark green, there is an American women who did a walk in wardrobe with Ikea Pax which she then customised - OMG it is gorgeous. Very useful for inspiration. This is one of the images

I also used pax. Sharps quoted me £9k for the same space. About £300 from IKEA plus £100 for a bloke to fit it. Mine are functional though and in a big cupboard so I didn't make it look pretty, put doors on etc although it looks perfectly nice!

We also used Pax. Our walk in is a long, narrow room of its own, not a walk through, so just have basic white carcases, innards and no doors.

Ours is the same so it'll be open with no doors. Both DH have a standard wardrobe each at the moment so this will seem so spacious.

I feel so encouraged after all of you posting so thank you - loads. I truly had visions of clothes in boxes and a hanging rail each.

Excited!
