And if so, where did you buy from? Was going to get some high quality oak effect vinyl(?) planks, EvoCore, but was working out so expensive that I thought I may as well go for something I really want!

Bump. I'm trying to choose kitchen flooring too.

Not trying to derail, but I've become completely intrigued by wood effect porcelain. Never seen it laid. Planks. But awaiting responses to your Bamboo question.

We've got a very dark stained engineered bamboo flooring - been down 10 yrs and apart from some fine scratches in areas (underneath my not so temp as it turns out wfh desk area), it's still looking good. No idea now where it was from (was not o. the High Street at the time but a supplier we found at a home renovation show) but was 30quid sqm then so guessing quote high end.

Actually don't think the price of flooring has gone up, if anything it's come down as so much more competition - vinyl existed 10+ years ago but not the good quality stuff that's about now and massive range of hard wood floors at various price points.

We have bamboo in the hall, it's been down almost 11 years now and it's great. I think it was from B&Q but just a special but it was quite expensive (seem to recall not as expensive as oak but considerably more than laminate - probably not dissimilar to pp at @£25-30sqm). Tried to match it a couple of yrs later, bought some from an online retailer (cant remember which) and it wasn't as good. We took that up a couple of years ago (it'd only been down about 5 yrs) and replaced with oak.

We're now looking at buying again for another bit of the hall - so need hard wearing again. I've had quite a few samples and think we're going to use simply bamboo (online). It's still about £30per sm.

We have it throughout our downstairs. Ours is from the Bamboo Flooring Company. It's been down for over 10 years and looks fab.

We have bamboo in a living space and cutting it to fit was both difficult and painful (the sharpest splinters possible) so do take the fitting element into account…

We have bamboo flooring in the downstairs hall and living room. Been down about 8 years and has worn really well. It has scratched where furniture has been moved but it isn't too noticeable. The flooring was from Howdens and was about £25 per square metre.

I have bamboo floor from the Bamboo Flooring Company. I had it down 8 years before I sold, and it looked good. However it was a pain in the ass to lay, splinters etc, and my flooring guy moaned about it loads.
I would not use this company as I was short a couple quarter rounds and when I ordered them, the shipping was more than the cost of the rounds. As I'd spent thousands on the flooring, I asked them to forego the shipping cost as a goodwill gesture. They flatly refused. So no recommendation.
