Bare walls

Hi. Might be a daft question but do you have anything on your living room walls? We have recently had an extension, we knocked our old kitchen and living room together and added on a new build kitchen. I love it and love the extra space, however my living room walls are bare. I have put photos up on 2 main walls but it still looks odd. I'm not a fan of pictures/art and don't want to load the walls with photos. Does anyone have any ideas what I can put up? Thanks.

Should have added that my DH has a no mirror rule as that was a thought I had

Mirrors are brilliant for reflecting and enhancing light. Is your DH a vampire?

What is wrong with pictures / art? that is the obvious thing to put on the walls, and there are millions of options to choose from.

if you want real art (original by an artist), look on artfinder.com

if you want to fill wall space, buy posters in an art gallery shop (e.g. Tate Gallery shop etc). they all sell online. And then put in nice frames from habitat (now sold at argos). posters of antique maps can also look good.

the cheapest option is to buy a calendar full of pictures from an artist you like, put them in IKEA frames & put them up. sometimes a set of 3 or 4 together looks good.

We have shelves. Lots of shelves. Seemed like a good idea but it turns out I don’t have loads of decorative objects and so they have filled up with cookbooks and children’s art. Does fill the blank space but not especially insta worthy!

Thank you everyone. I like the sound of wicker. Will have a nosey for a nice star or a seasonal wreath. I wish I could say DH was a Cullen'esk vampire but just a middle aged bloke who doesn't like seeing his bald spots 😂
