Self build magazine recommendations?

A friend is planning to self build their family home. They are at the stage of having acquired the land and waiting for confirmation of permission for the more specific plans. I want to sign her up for a subscription to a relevant magazine for her birthday. Probably just 6 issues (to accompany a nice bottle of gin). Any recommendations? They are planning a reasonably modern single story build, though she does also like quite traditional features. It's never something I've looked into so have no idea if any of the magazines available are better than others. Would really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Have a look at property magazines in the shops. I recommend reading the articles to see what ideas you can find etc. YourHome is a good one but there are others to purchase.

Self Build is okay but like most magazines regurgitate the same articles on a regular basis.

Books tend to be more informative albeit a bit more technical, the Housebuilders Bible and the Green Build Guide are both pretty good.
