Hi. Does anyone have one of these? I am looking to replace a gas fire. I am trying to be more environmentally minded and feeling that electric is a much cleaner fuel. I don’t want anything fake looking and saw one of these in a showroom and it looked pretty good but wondering if anyone had experience of them?

I have a much more basic one of another brand, I find it nice to have the glow in the evening and it has a fan function which is good when you just want to take the chill off the living room.

Those look really nice, and I have had Dimplex products in the past and been pleased with the quality.

Thanks @Evenstar. That’s really helpful.

I've got one although I need to replace a part as it's currently not working. However when it does work it looks really good!

I read people saying they look great but they do break down. If they are fairly simple to repair I think I may get one.

We have one and it looks great when on. I do miss our old stove though as it's not as good as the real thing.

@TulipsfromAmsterdam I have a real wood burning stove too but it is a bit of a hassle to clean and I am thinking about more clean energy hence thinking about one of these. Glad to hear it looks nice when switched on.

I've seen them in showrooms and thought they looked really fake. I really want a stove, but can't afford to reline the chimney, so an electric stove looked ideal, but I decided to just seal up the fireplace in the end.

I have one. It's now in a tenanted flat and haven't heard anything about it but I loved it. You must use filtered water (thru a Britax thing is fine). The fan is a noticeable noise but I usually just had it in gif the fire effect. It is the most realistic fire I've found.
One thing is my electrician just couldn't get his head around me saying it was just a normal plug needing a normal socket so he put an annoying safety switch on the side wall which has a red light. Wish I'd insisted he take it off.
